This is a very big goal but for us it breaks down into three lower level aims;
Improve the clinical effectiveness of Radiation Therapy through upright positioning
Improve the access to Radiation Therapy by removing the need for large and expensive rotating gantries and instead introduce slow patient rotation
Empower patients and clinicians to face Radiation Therapy together; eye to eye.

Thomas ‘Rock’ Mackie
Rock Mackie is the Board Chairman and Co-Founder of Leo Cancer Care. He is Professor Emeritus of Medical Physics and Human Oncology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and serial entrepreneur who has co-founded many not-for-profit and for-profit organizations. Rock co-founded the Geometrics Corporation to develop the Pinnacle Radiotherapy Treatment Planning System (TPS) now owned by Philips Medical Corporation and once the largest selling TPS in the world. Rock co-founded TomoTherapy in 1997, an image-guided intensity modulated radiotherapy machine company, and was Chair of the Board from founding through exit. Rock was also awarded the ASTRO Gold Medal in 2019 for his service to the field of Radiation oncology.
Stephen Towe
Stephen Towe is the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Leo Cancer Care. Having successfully driven the design of the Leo Cancer Care technology in Australia Stephen took over the role of CEO in 2018. Since then, Stephen has led the expansion of Leo across both the US and Europe. He has a successful track record of delivering the most innovative products in radiotherapy, having led development teams in the completion and release of the Elekta Unity MRI guided radiotherapy system. Stephen has built a career innovating and commercialising radiotherapy products in the United States, Australia and across Europe and thrives on challenging the norm and improving the quality of care.
Niek Schreuder
Niek Schreuder is the Chief Scientific Officer for Leo Cancer Care. He is a board certified (DABR) medical physicist and fellow of the AAPM with significant experience in all aspects of radiotherapy. Niek is an expert in proton radiation therapy systems and has been involved in commissioning, training professionals and first treatments at nine proton therapy facilities and one neutron therapy facility over the past 31 years. He has been responsible for training and coordinating training for physicians, medical physicists, dosimetrists and radiation therapists for many radiation therapy facilities. Niek has held roles in management and medical physics at Provision Healthcare, ProCure Treatment Centers in Knoxville, TN and the Midwest Proton Radiotherapy Institute (MPRI) in Bloomington, IN. He started his career in particle therapy as a medical physicist working at the radiation therapy facilities (neutron, proton and X-rays) at iThemba Labs in South Africa. His passion is developing new technologies to advance the field of radiation therapy to benefit cancer patients.
Andy Harley
Andy Harley is the Chief Financial Officer of Leo Cancer Care, joining in October 2020. He has 9 years of experience within the radiotherapy market gained whilst at Elekta, where he held a variety of roles across the finance function. His most recent role at Elekta was as the Vice President of Finance for the Linac Business Line where he was responsible for the profitability of Elekta’s largest business line. Andy previously headed up the global finance teams at Elekta for both the supply chain, and product creation functions where he drove quality and process improvements. Prior to Elekta Andy spent 12 years at Philips in multiple roles including heading up the financial post merger integration of the Avent childcare business into Philips, and as a result went on to become the global controller for Philips Mother and Childcare division.
