Solutions
The key elements of our Solutions
Centered around an upright patient positioning system and an integrated upright fan beam CT scanner, our technology brings imaging and treatment together in a single, streamlined environment. By enabling patients to remain upright, we aim to enhance comfort and stability while improving anatomical consistency. Combined with imaging at the isocenter that supports daily adaptation, our approach allows clinicians to deliver more personalized care—all within one efficient, patient-centered space.

Our upright patient positioning system is at the heart of upright radiotherapy treatments. Research shows that body position can affect internal anatomy, and remaining upright during treatment may reduce internal motion, improving stability and treatment accuracy. Inspired by these findings, we developed a system that we hope will not only enhance precision but also put patients first. By keeping patients upright, they can feel more comfortable, in control, and connected throughout their care.

Our upright fan beam CT scanner is positioned at the isocenter, unlocking the potential for daily imaging and online adaptive particle therapy. This innovative approach allows treatments to adapt as the body changes throughout a course of therapy. With the CT integrated at the isocenter, you can simulate in the treatment room and treat in the same space, allowing a single room to meet both simulation and treatment needs efficiently.
Solutions
Turning Key Elements into Clinical Solutions
Our complete upright treatment solutions integrate a fan beam CT scanner and patient positioning system to create Grace, our photon therapy solution, and Marie, our particle therapy solution, enabling proton, carbon ion, and BNCT treatments.

Photons have been used to treat cancer for over 125 years right to the time when X-rays were first discovered by W.C. Roentgen and are still the old standard for radiation treatments around the world with approximately 8000 facilities worldwide housing photon treatment machines.

Particle therapy is a developing area of external beam radiation therapy that utilizes particles such as protons, neutrons and heavy ions. The potential benefits highlighted in research include lower energy deposits to surrounding tissue reducing side effects whilst allowing for higher doses to the tumor itself.
End-to-End Workflow
Same Workflow, New Approach
Simulation and Daily Imaging
With Leo Cancer Care’s transformative solutions, you gain access to a seamless upgrade path that evolves alongside your clinic. Starting with simulation, daily imaging and treatment in the same room, then as the demand for upright grows we have some unique but neat solutions that will grow with you.
Motion Management
In our natural upright position, evidence suggests reduced organ motion. Research on our system also indicated matched setup reproducibility. We have developed technology with our partners to ensure efficient treatments, including breath control and optical guidance.
Oncology Information System
At Leo Cancer Care, we aim for seamless integration with all Oncology Information System (OIS) vendors. An OIS is a comprehensive software program that is designed to manage a wide range of patient information, including patient history, diagnoses, prescriptions, images, vital signs, and allergies. Our commitment is to provide a smooth, efficient, and cohesive experience for healthcare providers using any preferred OIS platform, enabling them to focus on what matters most—patient care.
Treatment Planning
The same but different. Treatment planning in the upright position is not a create from scratch process. We’ve partnered with RaySearch Laboratories a leading provider of IOS and TPS to integrate our technology into their offering.
Quality Assurance
We understand the importance of quality assurance workflows and have made inroads to make the end-to-end process simple. As with patient ingress and egress simplification in the upright position, we have created multiple devices to allow Dosimetrists to easily setup any QA device and all necessary dosimetry equipment will be provided.
